An aviation show is an event held in public which involves the exhibition of different aircraft. Such a show mostly includes aircraft exhibiting various aviation skills in the air. In a situation where the planes are not in motion, the exhibition is called a static air show. There are various popular aviation shows in the world.

The Royal International Air Tattoo

This is the world’s largest military air show held in England. It was founded by Paul Bowen and Timothy Prince. It began in 1971 with just 100 airplanes taking part. The air show is held annually at the Fairford Royal Air Force station in England.

Previously it used to take place every two years until 1993 when it became an annual event. It is held during the third weekend in July. The show attracts about 200000 spectators each year.

Abbotsford International Airshow

This show was established in 1962. It is Canada’s largest air show, held every year. It is a three-day event which takes place on the second Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in August. The show’s venue is Abbotsford International Airport where around 125000 spectators turn out daily.

Aero India

This is a military air fair exhibition held in Bengaluru in India. It takes place at the Yelahanka Air Force station. The show takes place in February and is active up to date. It was established in 1996 and occurs every two years. The show is organized by the Defence Exhibition Organization and has an average attendance of about 275000 spectators.

Airshow San Diego

This air show was previously known as Wings Over Gillespie. The aviation show is held every weekend in June. It takes place at Gillespie Field in California. It is organized by the Commemorative Air Force of USA. The show was previously known for static displays but has recently changed to flying skills.
